Wow, social media can really suck the life out of you. Don’t get me wrong by that statement, it’s not that I don’t love it – it’s just that it can suck hours and hours out of your day and you feel like you are coming up for air, gasping for breath. But, with that said, social media is a great way to help build a network. And I’ve done it. After a few years of ‘blogging’ kinda half-heartedly, and admittedly afraid to share my blog with the general public – I’ve gone and done it and created a Facebook page for my ‘new’ business and am actually admitting to owning this blog (and bought the rights to the domain, even!) Wow, there’s commitment for ‘ya. Must be this whole baby thing that’s forced me into a whole new level of commitment. I guess I figure if I’m going to be selling product for real this summer, I better at least look legit so that folks my take me seriously. That’s important to us virgos – things need to be complete, details taken care of. No loose ends. So, in virgo-like fashion, I am tying loose ends. Watch out or you might get tied up too! So – while you’re at it, check out my Facebook page, and like me, please! I promise that you’ll get random blog updates and more information than you might like about various fiber projects.
With that all said and done, I have to say its been a rugged few days in this house. Lil’ Finn has decided to grow and get teeth, all at once. And that means a LOT of wakey time, in the middle of the night. And not just awake and eating, but awake and screaming. Like nothing I’ve ever seen out of this kid. I think I might have lost a significant percentage of braincells this week due to sleep deprivation. Ugh. But, I’ve still been able to keep busy – latest and most fun (and easy) project has been the ‘tag blanket’. Super fun, and Finn approved. In fact, they might all have been loved a little by that little boy. He adores brightly colored fabrics. Who doesn’t?
These seem almost irresistible to babies- the bright colors and fun ribbons attached to the edge just scream to be put in one’s mouth (apparently!). And – the fun-to-make thing is good too. These will be available at the Farmer’s Market on the 24th, along with my growing stack of bibs and burb cloths:
Good stuff. Anyway, that’s pretty much all I’ve been able to do, well – mostly all. I DID get out on my road bike for a long ride. Heavenly, and the first time since pre-baby. Wow. Kinda sad considering I used to ride my bike 5 days a week. I’ll get back into it. But I certainly thought a lot about that on my ride. I MISS my bike – probably more than anything else that I did pre-baby that I haven’t been doing since. And I need to get back out there. At least a couple times a week. Fingers crossed that this whole not working thing will enable that. Bike riding goes a long way at preserving mental sanity.
